This was my first tattoo, located on my lower back. I love the Triquetra because it has so many meanings and I descend from a Celtic background. It represents the interconnected parts of our existence (Mind, Body, and Soul). The levels of womanhood (maiden, mother, crone). It can represent time (Past, Present and Future). It symbolizes life, death, and rebirth. The three forces of nature (earth, air, and water). The symbol has also been used by Christians as a sign of the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). It's connected to everything in the world and it's so lovely.

Unfortunately yes. I went to a local tattoo shop my friend recommended and got it done by the same guy she did. He even had his license on the wall. I guess he's better at script than line work. He also looked like he could have been stoned. I've thought about getting it touched up but I'm worried it'll somehow turn out worse. I need to find a better local artist. The ones I have gone to just keep messing me up.

Make sure you check peoples portfolios before you even book an appointment or bother to talk with them. It is all too easy to obtain a "license" and in some places, like here in Canada, you don't even need that.
If you can smell weed or alcohol on your artist, just walk out. This is on you for life.
As it is, this tattoo could be saved, the lines would have to be thickened and then I would probably recommend adding some shading or something to pad it out a bit.
Just be careful choosing your next artist. And dont be afraid to slander your old one, he shouldn't be holding a machine, and deserved a poor reputation.

Yeah, you live and learn I guess. Too bad the best experience I've had with a tattooist was an apprentice. There is a guy near me who's work is brilliant but he's kind of a dick so I don't know. We'll see.
